When my friends and I decided to undertake the 12-day Everest Base Camp Trek in March 2026, we knew it would be an adventure, but none of us imagined how deeply the journey would stay with us even after returning home.
From the moment we landed in Nepal, there was an excitement that was hard to explain. Kathmandu felt energetic and full of life, and meeting the team from Nepal Bhutan Tour Packages gave us confidence that everything had been planned carefully. We were all excited but equally curious about what the coming days would bring.
The flight to Lukla was our first real taste of adventure. Sitting by the window and seeing the massive Himalayan landscapes beneath us immediately made us realize we were about to experience something special.
As we started trekking, every day seemed to offer something completely different. Walking through small mountain villages, crossing suspension bridges covered in prayer flags, seeing yaks carrying supplies, and watching snow-covered peaks appear around every corner made the journey feel almost unreal.
Namche Bazaar became one of my favorite places during the trek. There was something very special about the atmosphere there. We spent time exploring the town, relaxing with coffee, and simply enjoying being surrounded by mountains.
As we gained altitude, things naturally became more challenging. There were moments when the trails felt long and our legs reminded us of every step we had taken, but having good friends around made all the difference. We laughed, encouraged each other, shared stories during the evenings in teahouses, and created memories that I know we will still be talking about years from now.
The most powerful moment for me personally was reaching Kala Patthar early in the morning. Standing there with my friends while the sunlight slowly touched Everest and the surrounding peaks is difficult to describe in words. Everything became quiet. We all just stood there taking in the moment.
Then finally reaching Everest Base Camp itself felt incredible. It was not simply about reaching a destination; it felt like achieving something together. The sense of accomplishment after days of trekking through some of the world's most beautiful landscapes was something very special.
Looking back now, I can honestly say this trip gave me much more than I expected. We came for the mountains, but we left with unforgettable memories, stronger friendships, and experiences that will stay with us forever.
I would also like to thank Nepal Bhutan Tour Packages and Kishor for organizing everything so smoothly. From planning to guiding and support throughout the trek, everything was handled professionally, allowing us to simply focus on enjoying the experience.
If anyone is thinking about doing the Everest Base Camp Trek, my advice would be simple — do it. The photographs are beautiful, but standing there yourself is a completely different feeling.
